Language

Sampit using Bahasa Indonesia, but for most common speaking language is Bahasa Banjar. Here a few word of Bahasa Banjar , maybe useful for you :

Ulun (oo-loon) : I (polite)
Pian (pee-yaan) : You (polite)
Urangnya (oo-raang-nyaa) : Excuse me (when you come into shop and no one there)
Nukarlah (noo-karr-laah) : I buy it (permission to the seller when you buy something, the seller would say “Jual” for )
Bujur (boo-joor) : Right
Nyaman (nyaa-maan) : Delicious
Rami (Raa-mee) : excitedly crowded
Lakasi (Laa-Kaa-See) : Hurry up!
